Dating back to the mid 1800s, the hardwood in the Beam collection was once a grove of trees in Central Canada that the nearby Amish community felled to provide sturdy support to a family’s grainery. Every nearby fit man and son worked together to raise the structure from the ground up. The beams still contain the original adze cuts, similar to an ax, when community men shaped round trees into square beams. Today, those hardwood supports are the centerpiece of the Beam collection that marries rustic elegance with modern forms that bring a piece of authentic heritage into your home.
